Recital 2013: You Should Be Dancing!
You Should Be Dancing, our 2013 recital, will take place on June 8, 2013! The recital will be at N.F.H.S., curtain time 12:00 p.m. The finale song is still to be decided but will be a compilation of songs that fit the theme of the recital. Detailed information packages will be distributed in May. BE SURE TO READ THEM CAREFULLY! Information always changes from year-to-year; be sure to pay attention to details to keep track of the numerous events (stage rehearsal, picture day, and in-studio dress rehearsals.) As always, if you have any questions about dates and times, feel free to ask Miss Jessica or your child’s teacher.

Bailey’s Tights Sale
In order to make preparations for the recital easier for the parents, Bailey’s Slipper Shop is selling tights to our studio. Tights orders will be taken at the studio and delivered there as well to save parents the hassle of driving around to find and buy tights. The sale will take place between February 2nd and March 9th. (I’m sorry, but no orders can be accepted after March 9th because of the shipping time.) If you are unsure of the size, we do have sample sizes at the studio. Feel free to ask your child’s teacher to try them on. To order tights, either fill out the enclosed form or pick one up at the studio. You may put orders in the payment box.
Practice Makes Perfect!!
As many of our kids will tell you, practice makes perfect. To help you get ready for recital, many teachers are making their music available on audio CD so students may practice outside of the studio. The music CDs for many classes are already available. To obtain a CD, talk to your child’s teacher. CD’s are $1 each.
Help Support Our Competition Team
We have several upcoming events to raise funds to help our competition team.
• Bring us your recyclable bottles. Saturday, February 23rd from 12:00PM – 3:00PM we will be collecting bottles to be recycled. If you would like us to pick up your bottles, call or email Miss Jessica to arrange a time.
• Have any loose change? Drop it in our KICK BALL CHANGE jug to help get our girls to competition! We'd be glad to take it off your hands.
Niagara Dance is going GREEN!!
Niagara Dance is working on going green. The February 2013 Footnotes has been sent out via email. If you did not receive it or we do not have your e-mail on file, postcards will be placed in the studio and can be submitted to the cash box - we will keep your e-mail confidential. Extra copies of the Footnotes and any other forms will be kept at the studio if you would prefer a print copy.
Niagara Dance Track Suits
Back by popular demand, we are running a second sale for our 2012-2013 tracksuits. The track suits are high quality black suits and white detailing. The jackets zip up with the Niagara Dance Centre name and logo embroidered on the back of the jacket in light purple and silver with the student’s name embroidered over the heart. The black track pants have the studio logo on the leg in light purple and silver. Child sized jackets do run small. Order forms are available at the studio.
NO STREET SHOES ON THE DANCE FLOOR
Yes, we know how inconvenient it is to remove your shoes at the doorway, especially at crowded times – we do it every day. But we care about our dancers. We have a beautiful, sprung floor and we MUST keep the dance floor as dry, clean and free of grit and dirt as possible. If you sit in the entrance area over the mats, feel free to leave your shoes on. However, if you need to step on the dance area for ANY reason, (to speak to a teacher, go to the restroom or check our used shoe box, for example,) we must INSIST you remove your street shoes at the door first. Thanks for your help.
Final Notes
LOST AND FOUND is alive and all too well. Please check the studio for your missing items. All items that are not claimed by Winter Break will be donated to the Salvation Army.
ATTENDANCE - Stay home if you are truly ill and call if you will be absent. Although we agree schoolwork always comes first, use time management skills to get schoolwork done on time so you don’t miss dance. If you do miss a class, speak to your child’s teacher about making up a class.
QUESTIONS??? Unlike some studios, we welcome questions and feedback. We want everybody well informed so things run smoothly for us all. If your questions are not answered by the newsletter or other printed information, JUST ASK! We are happy to help. If you have billing questions, please call Miss Jessica’s dad 870-3586 or Miss Jessica 283-1978.
